Happy Easter! Why we love trips to the farm.

Spring is time of new awakenings, fresh beginnings and of course baby animals.  Spring babies never fail to delight, which is why you can’t beat a trip to a farm over the Easter holidays.
We’ve always found farm trips and little people to be the perfect match. Toddlers get to stomp around in their wellies in the fresh air, even take a ride on a large tractor and the highlight is always meeting, stroking and petting all the farm animals. And show us a grown-up who hasn’t been left slightly dewy-eyed at the sight of a new born lamb at feeding time or crossing paths with a gaggle of baby geese waddling behind mother goose.
You can get in the mood for your farm outing with a sing-a-long to our nursery rhyme video of OldMacDonald. Oink oink.

Wherever you’re based in the world, we’d love to hear about your favourite local days out in your city/country. Please share them in the comments box below.

We are based in London so here’s our round-up of our three best local farms in and around London, but please do add your recommendations too.
Mudchute Park and Farm
For an urban day out with an animal twist, this compact farm, with a lovely petting zoo and duck pond comes with spectacular views of the City of London. No café though so bring a picnic.
This is our local farm and tucked away in the shadows of the mighty Heathrow airport, so little ones get to spot the jumbos as they pet the baby pigs too. Stroll around the paddocks and get involved with the animal feeding. The alpacas are our favourites.
This is a stunning farm park. Packed with things to do and farm-based activities, from tractor rides, to milking cows and baby animal feeding, just make sure you come ready for big day-out. The indoor play barn with giant haystack is an absolute hit with the boisterous little ones, producing squeals of delight as they bounce around in the hay.
At the end of the day, you can calm your over-excited little ones with a soothing round of our nursery rhyme, Sleeping Bunnies.
