It took a while to get this video up and running. We started it about eight months ago but it was riddled with lots of stop and starts. Just when we thought we had it in the can, a computer virus crashed our PC! Of course it would cost a fortune to retrieve the data but first we had to discover whether our hard drive was completely dead. After much investigating in Gibraltar (where we started the animation) and London (where we subsequently moved to) we managed to retrieve some of the cartoon, thanks to Dan our IT man! It was a great relief, as with any artwork - it's never the same when you have to re-do something. We managed to finish the cartoon based on what we had retrieved and are pretty pleased with the result. Hope you and the kids enjoy it too.
We added our recording to it using the US lyrics. We think they use the words 'jumping on the bed', while in the UK we tend to use 'bouncing on the bed', We're working on the UK version so watch this space.
You'll hear our son comment during the video about ' how he's not going to jump on the bed,daddy'. This was a spontaneous comment made during the recording. It seemd to fit in so well that we decided to keep it in.
On a serious note, it is very dangerous when kids jump on the bed or sofa, especially where there are hard floors. After playing around on our sofa, our son fell off and quite literally 'bumped his head'. He fainted and I had to keep him awake until the ambulance arrived. Because of the seriousness of head injuries, the ambulance whisked us off to hospital where after the routine checks the doctors were happy to let us go. Thankfully our son was right as rain after just a couple of hours.
This is a really great nursery rhyme song for all ages and its great fun to sing a long with, hopefully we have done the visual and the song some justice and hope you all enjoy it.
